Hello,
I have to import an Avid Session in my PT 7.1 HD System. What are the steps the video editor has to take care for to export it the right way. The video should be visible on the mojo-Box and the audio files should be work in PT 7.1. The video editor is working with Avid Adrenaline, and we are connected with a Gigabyte-Lan. Thanks for every helping advice. Best regards Peter |

Hi Makesound,
First what videoresolution is the videoeditor working on the adrenaline? Cause mojo supports just a few codecs. I think they are listed in the mojo manual. 1:1, dv, and some more. Cause we don´t have PT 7.2 the videoeditor has to do a videodownmix so you can see all videoelements. The rest is regular omf or aaf exporting. copy the videofiles on a separate drive. My 2 cents Jochen |

![]() If you have a Mojo, then the Avid video will need to be 1:1, DV25, DV50, 14:1p, 15:1s, 28:1 or 35:1 video resolutions, in either OMF or MXF formats. It they are not, the Avid will need to transcode them on export or you could use Media Station PT software on your Pro Tools system to do it. As long as all video Fx are rendered on the Avid side, and they are using one of the resolutions listed above, you can open the video sequence. You'll want the Avid editor to output an AAF export (or OMF) with embedded OR linked audio, and Linked video (Pro Tools is unable to deal with embedded video). The video sequence doesn't necessarily need to be mixed down unless the sequence contains timecode window burns, watermarkings etc. that they want to be included in your video. The audio is the easy side, anything the Avid puts out (as long as the sample rates on all files are the same), Pro Tools will be able to deal with. You will need to have the Digitranslator option installed on your Pro Tools system to be able to open the AAF (or OMF) export. Hope this helps, Jon Connolly Digidesign Product Specialist |

Thanks alot for your helping advices. The editor tried it several times, but the import doesn´t work.
The problem is, that the Audio Import works fine, but ProTools says that the videofiles are missing and even automatic relink doesn´t find the necessary files. I think that the editor has to save the complete video file(s) in the directory where the aaf exported audio files and sequence is stored (right?). (Consolidate video? Mixdown Video?) They worked in an 2:1 resoluton, so we can use it only transcoded (DVC25) with the mojo. Is there any manual where this export is described in detail? Or is there any user outside who can it explain step by step what the editor has to do. Thanks alot for every helping hand Bye Peter |
