Default 001 Backwards Compatibility$

I currently work with an older 4.1.1 Nubus PT III system. I have a project coming into the studio that will be using PT sessions created in Digi 001. Will I be able to open the 001 sessions via my PT 4.1.1 software?

It should, PTLE is PT without a bunch of key features.

I might check digi's web site or run a search here.

Let us know what happens!!

Anyone tried this???

Um, the answer is "yes" with some provisions.

The session created in LE must be saved as a 4.1 session. Pro Tools sessions are not technically backward compatible (as Digital Performer's and most other people's are not..).
All this means is that LE can open any session created from 5.0 on back, but 4.11 can only open sessions from 4.11 on back....if that makes sense.
It has to do with the newer features and such in each new version. 4.11 wouldn't know what to do with some of the stuff saved in a 5.0 file....

Just have the session that was originated in LE copied with "Save As" or "Save A Copy As", and select "4.1" from the menu...(all in LE before it leaves obviously...)

Cheers

That wasn't meant to sound snippy, by the way, sorry....
