Score editor - couple of questions...
Searching the manual brings up far too many words - these are probably easy but...
1) Is there a way to make the score editor pages turn automatically as the playbeak head gets to the end? 2) Is there a way to restrict each part to just one clef instead of always having both treble and bass? Thanks Tom |

Re: Score editor - couple of questions...
and while I'm at it
3) How do you stop the darn thing switching the Tracks on and off all the time in the Score Editor? Every time you edit something in the timeline it switches on tracks you've not touched, and/or switches off tracks you want to look at. You have to reselect the tracks you want to see EVERY time. (Making tracks inactive makes no different - you have to delte them if you don't want them showing up - and that's obviously silly). Thanks |

Am I really the only person in the whole world who uses the score editor?

Re: Score editor - couple of questions...
Anyone finding these questions may be glad to read these answers - provided by email:
Q1) Is there a way to make the score editor pages turn automatically as the playback head gets to the end? A1) this is set by clicking on the Score Editor Window Menu (the round button in the top right hand corner of the Score Window) then choosing Scrolling > Page. (Pro Tools 8.0 Reference Guide pages 637-638). Q2) Is there a way to restrict each part to just one clef instead of always having both treble and bass? A2) the choice of clef being displayed is available in the Notation Display Track Settings window; detailed information is at page 641 in the Pro Tools 8.0 Reference Guide. Q3) How do you stop the darn thing switching Tracks on and off all the time in the Score Editor? Every time you edit something in the timeline it switches on tracks you've not touched, and/or switches off tracks you want to look at. You have to reselect the tracks you want to see EVERY time. (Making tracks inactive makes no difference - you have to delete them if you don't want them showing up - and that's obviously silly). A3) Track display in the Score Window depends on Track selection: the information at page 632 in the Pro Tools 8.0 Reference Guide should clarify selection and display behaviour. (Actually it doesn't - it still switched on and off according to what you last edited and I don't want it to, but there you go). I had to get an ASC before I got a reply, but the advices is good.
