"Move to 003" promotion also in Europe or just in US ???

I can't see the information of this promotion on the german/uk digi-site. just on the us-site. does that mean this offer is not available for european customers?

I have a RME Multiface and Cabase SX 3, so i think i'm qualified and like to buy the 003 Factory before the end of the promo.

Can i keep my interface and software, by the way?

but does it mean that i have to send my audio hardware and software? do i get it back? or do they need it just to prove the upgrade price?

It's a trade in so yes, you would have to surrender your software and hardware in exchange for the Digidesign products.

I don't mean to sound like a jerk, but it would be a pretty dumb business strategy to reward people for buying the competitions products. If you want to crush the competition you need to get their products out of peoples hands and into the crusher.

my cubase + multiface was 1500 eur, so thats what i would loose plus all my work of the last 5 years...

too much for a 1250 eur discount for the digi 003 factory.

ok so i have to pay the normal price. i'll buy the 003 factory and the music production toolkit instead.

p.s. i know there where some offers by other companies that let you keep your original software and you get their software (sequencer) for a special price. that was not to reward the people who bought a competive product, but to sell something to them at all. if you payed 700-1000 eur/$ for a sequencer it's a hard decision to buy another sequencer for 900 eur/$ so most people will stay with their original sequencer. thought it was the same with the digi-promotion ...

strange promotion...

cubase has unlimited track count, surround capabilities, automatic delay compensation (i have UAD-1 cards), mp3 export, better midi features. the rme multiface has fantastic sound quality, 32 samples (!!) latency and fully featured realtime hardware metering.

going from this nice DAW to 32 track limit, no delay compensation, higher latency, no surround plus i loose access to all my previous work???? (thats the absolute killer. all the nice recordings and arrangements... )

i don't think it's an "upgrade" for me ...

but who the hell will get rid of his nuendo (1.999,-) or cubase or sonar for a DAW with less capabilities. i wonder how many people actually do this ???

if people like me who already invested into hw + sw want to get PT compability for their studio on top of the existing system - i can understand that.

sorry guys. i'll buy the 003 rack anyway, but i can't really understand who will actually do this move...
