Default Mac Mini 1.83GHz Intel Dual Core with MBox2?

Anybody using this combo? I don't see the 1.83GHz on the list of approved CPUs, but just wondering if anyone knows if it works okay.

Thanks!

Excellent question.

I'm considering this model mini, too.

In a recent post I got this response from Rosemeister :

I think you would be better off getting a new entry iMac and a Mbox2. You would have all of the new plugins and the power to boot. The 7200rpm hard drive in the iMac would go harder than getting a Mac Mini with a 4200 rpm hard drive.

However, in the same post, Audioboffin suggested this:

I personally would recommend buying a new mac mini, perhaps even waiting until they come with a Core 2 duo CPU, and picking up a used 002 Rack or mBox with license. The minis seem to be one of those designs that really hit the spot, very few failures, and good grunt for your hard earned pound.

Not sure which advice best applies to the 1.83Hz model...

...er, of course the 1.83Hz model Mac Mini doesn't run very fast at all...the 1.83 GHz model would probably be better...
