Delay when press the "rec" button

I'm having problems to record any track in pro tools free. When i press the rec button starts a huge delay!!! anyone knows how to stop this?
Whem i press the mute button the delay disapear but i think this is not the solution.

In the truth I am having problems with the signal of audio. When i press the button "rec" seems that the audio is duplicated causing a delay in the sound that i heard

Open up your transport to full view (Display> Transport window shows> MIDI Controls)
Check to see if the "2 Bars" button is lit. If so, click it so it dims.
You may have a 2-bar countoff before the transport engages. This same problem drove me nuts for awhile.

The delay you may be hearing could be a function of DAE latency. You can choose a smaller buffer size to shorten the effect, but the best bet is to mute the channel you're recording to, while listening to the other tracks you've already recorded.
