I am losing my damn mind.
I had to restore my CPU, (Alienware M9700 Laptop) and have been trying to re-install Pro Tools LE8 with the Mbox2 Pro. Originally it was a pain in the rear to install in the first place, but I was eventually able to do it. But this time, trying to reinstall it, has been impossible because I can't even get to the installation wizard. Instead of seeing the "install pro tools" flash screen with the various options, I am getting a blank grey menu box that is titled "welcome to Pro Tools". I have tried everything I can think of. I have tried Installing Pro Tools right after restoring my CPU to original condition with XP sp2. I have tried it AFTER sp3. I have tried it with Internet Explorer 7 AND 8 installed. I have tried it without Adobe Flash 10 installed and with it. I have tried copying the entire DVD to a seperate Firewire drive. I have people waiting for mixes from me and I can't frickin work. What the hell is the deal here? Is there an FTP that I can download LE8 for Mbox2 Pro from and just avoid this damn DVD install altogether? Why am I getting this damn empty grey menu box. Please help. |

Try transferring the contents of the DVD to your hard drive, then do an install.
(That's a zipped file, right? Make sure you extract EVERYTHING.) |

Anyone with a solution? Clearly this is a common problem... |

Is there a way to do this without re-buying the software? I've tried the "My Digi" link that others have talked about, but it doesn't list any products for me. I saw on another forum that My Digi was only for people who purchased Pro Tools for download, not on DVD. I also don't seem to have an activation code, just a serial number and registration confirmation number.
Thanks! |

You don't need to re-purchase the software - just contact Customer Service and they can either get a new DVD out to you or give you a link to a downloadable installer.
