Default Upgrade from Apple G5 to MacPro (Intel)

Hi. I'm upgrading from Apple G5 running ProTools 7.3.1 (HD 2 system to MacPro 2.0 GHZ Dual-Core Intel Xeon)

Any pitfalls I should be aware of? I've heard that the MacPro will not recognize ITunes folders. What should I do? I've Waves RenMax Bundle, TC Master X, Autotune, Pitch N' Time as well as Digi Plug-in. I am going to have to pay for plug-in upgrades.

Please advise. Thanks.

Dennis

Make sure you have the correct cards for a start PCIe rather than PCI-X.

Then if you own the latest major release of a plugin (eg/ Waves v5) go to their website and download the latest plugin installer.

Not sure what you mean about the itunes folders haven't heard anything about that. Yes there are issues moving itunes libraries between systems but if you are careful you can generally avoid most issues.

Don't transfer any program files from your G5 to your MacPro, do a clean install of all your applications.

Good luck

Would you mind elaborating on your set up. I have an HD 3 accel running on a dual 1.8 G5. Therefore, I have the original PCI cards. I am contemplating a new Mac Pro purchase. I'm not familar with the PE6R4.
Thanks.
