Re: Pro Tools Drops to Background in Mac
For many of us, standard procedure is to unload Avid Link as soon as we install a new version of Protools. (Seriously). I still poke around it once in a while after an upgrade just to see if there is anything interesting, but as always, there is nothing useful there. Even upgrading Protools via Avid Link is often problematic. It is always better to go into "My Account" and download from "My Products." I do recall several version ago Avid Link kept opening a terminal session randomly, so that might be your issue.

Re: Pro Tools Drops to Background in Mac
You've got to ask yourself why Avid are using Terminal-launched commands as part of their core application build. This isn't the 1980's, what kind of coding practises are they using?
As an aside, it's also intersting that Luna is (anecdotally) being developed by ex-Avid guys and they appear to have built a CPU-hungry behemoth even before getting the full feature set in place. It looks pretty but I don't hold out much hope for it, long-term. |
