Default Playback doesn't sound the same!

I'm using the Digi002 with PT8. I plug my guitar into a guitar processor and then go from the processor into one of the Digi002 inputs. I then create an audio track and when I put it in record mode, I monitor the sound of my guitar - and it sounds great! When I record on the track... the playback doesn't sound the same! The quality is not terrible, but not at all at what is sounded like when I was monitoring the sound before recording. Any assistance would be great. Thanks.
