Are PCIX HD Systems Worthless now? :(

Yep, as with all things computer related, these cards are effectively worthless once a couple of updated versions have surfaced. But they still have practical value on some level, and as others have rightly said, they may be worth something in the upgrade path. It's also possible that AVID will include them in an upgrade package but not bother to get them back from you. In which case you can possibly recoup the cost further.

Quite a value here,just spent 1,300. on a HD1 system with a 96 I/O,put it in an older Core 2 quad PC I wasnt using and im neck deep in PT 8 HD,saved many thousands and I already have PT 9 on another machine so as long as I dont get the gear jones for native,I have a completely stable HD system for the next 10 years for 1300.$ ......I got hit pretty hard on my mix farm system I spent 13,000.00 on being almost worthless so I feel pretty good about this setup.

oh well. upgrading to HDX is about $6k. way more than i can afford.
plus i only need PT 9 really. i have a good mac.

damn, i guess i should sell ASAP before it goes down even further
good for some engineers i guess but not for me.

maybe if i sell everything apart itll be better.
