Default Plug-in mapping

Does plug-in mapping within Pro Tools work with M-audio keyboard devices or just HUI devices?

Thanks in advance.

It should. Depends mostly on the plugin whether mapping works at all. Not every plugin does MIDI learn.

Thanks. But what about using the custom mapping that is built into Pro Tools?

Midi learn does works fine for me if a plugin has it's own param mapping options but what about the parameter mapping window built into Pro Tools that sits atop the plugin window? I am currently able to select parameters from this list, but the knobs on my M-Audio keyboard device are not recognized using this learn function even though they work for other instances. Is it possible that the built-in mapping functions can only be assigned to specific slots?

The only parameter mapping I use in PT other than a plugins' MIDI learn is to map a plugin parameter to an automation lane. I don't have or use a controller for parameters.

Can anyone confirm if plug-in mapping using the Pro tools feature works for them at all with any plug-in and any device?

For clarity, I've attached a pic of what I'm talking about.
