Default 11.2.2 Stability

Hows it working for anyone? Any major show stoppers? Pretty solid on 11.2.1 here.

As with any and all updates, have a backup plan!!!! Mine is to save a drive image first, or I clone the current system drive(and I then swap the fresh clone for the original system drive). If the update turns bad, I swap the old drive back in and go back to work

fine so far on 10.10.1. Just installed an SSD as a main system drive, installed PT11.2.2 on it fresh, and works like a charm.

I've had one crash on 11.2.2 which was right after installing Toontrack Superior Drummer. But it only happened once and has since been behaving itself so I don't know what caused it.

I had no problems on 11.2.1 though and have a backup so will go back if absolutely necessary.

Default Re: 11.2.2 Stability

Ive had 3 crashes in 11.2.2

woking in melodyne
simply working in the arrange, net page editing some audio
and another one I can't remember

thats about 3 more than 11.2.1

around the same time there were a few other plug ins with updates that I did. so who's to say where the fault lies but still is pretty wierd.

I have a clone to go back to, if it gets too troublesome.

With everything going on lately - the new licensing stuff. seems pretty lame.

11.2.2 not good. Can't deal with not being able to switch inputs and outputs, and not being able to switch MIDI CC views in the MIDI edit window.

Switched back to 11.2.1 and all is well again.

Default Re: 11.2.2 Stability

I just got a similar crash like I was getting in 11.2.2. editing some audio zoomed in and zooming in and out a bit while playing back. feels just about the same crash.

This one is after cloning back to 11.2.1 which was pretty stable.

BUT when i went back to 11.2.1 I re updated my plug ins that were recently updated.

Compressor Bank 5.3.20
Filter Bank 5.3.20
MC2000 5.3.20
Multiply 1.1.1

Sonnox
Codec Toolbox 1.0.4

these Sonnox were v 1.4.1120
Dyn
Inflator
Limiter
EQ
Reverb
Supressor
Trans Mod

Ultra Channel 2.0.19

So I assume its one of these causing PT 11.2.2 to crash, since 11.2.1 was very good for me.

Before I start rolling back again to 11.2.1 and NOT doing these plug in updates above.

Is there any link you see to those ALSO having crashes in 11.2.2

I personally feel its this type of information we need to share and be specific about around here to help us ALL Achieve Stability.

Anyone see a link to their own crashes, based on my system specs (currently shows 11.2.2 but i went back this morning to 11.2.1)

Can you describe "Not being able to switch inputs and outputs" in a little more detail?

Sorry if this seems redundant. Just wanting to understand exactly what you are talking about.

Yes. Click on the output button of any track. Say it's set to A1 and you want to switch it to A2. You select A2 but nothing changes, it sticks at A1. The workaround is to switch the output to NONE first, then you can finally switch to A2.

Same thing for inputs.

And MIDI CC data doesn't switch types either. And there's no workaround I can find because if I want to switch from viewing Mod Wheel data to Expression in the MIDI editor window, there's no "NONE" to select in-between.

All is well in 11.2.1 thankfully. I switched back.
