Quick update...
So now everything seems to be connected! and... we are back to square 1! All works except the meters that are once again extremely slow to respond, if at all. |

Hi Eddie
If you read through the next two posts, you’ll see that I pretty much got everything speaking and functioning correctly as far as the computer system goes. I still have the original problem, which is that meters are unresponsive and do not move. They light up, they stall but everything else functions, so I’m really questioning the software itself. I have to work so I’m tempted to see if I can go back a version in all the software to where it was working before, But I really think something is wrong here. By the way, I am myself an experienced ProTools consultant. Between 1998 and 2015 I was one of Digidesign’s top consultant / sales people and I trained in Palo Alto (under Christopher Bock, Brian Carter, Jon Con and Bill Lackey) so I always try to figure things out on my own to understand it better! But I am at a loss with this one. I would be happy to post a short video clip, but I’m not sure how to do that here? Do you have any other suggestions or comments? Cheers, Phil Last edited by philbone100; 03-22-2025 at 01:37 PM. |

What is the network service order on the Mac? This is all a bit of networking mess Quote:
The fact that you have your mesh WiFi router connected to both switches is likely causing IP conflicts along with the two TP-Link A54’s. You do not need two TP-Links for Eucon. All Eucon devices should only be connected to the same router for both Ethernet and WiFi. As long as the tablets are connected to that single router and the Dock and S1’s are connected to that same router via Ethernet, and the Mac has a dedicated LAN connection to that same router, you will be good. No need for the Mac to have WiFi on. Also,this.. Quote:
Your setup should look like this.. Connection 1. Linksys Mesh router Ethernet -> 5 port switch < NAS & Mac Ethernet port ( this is also your internet connection to the Mac. Connection 2 ( via usb Ethernet adapter to Mac via LAN on router) -> TPLink A54 < Dock, S1 Ethernet LAN, tablets via dedicated TPLink WiFi network, different from your home network. The TPLink should have and entirely different IP range from your home network router (Linksys) For example, if your Linksys is 192.168.1.1, then the TPLink should be 192.168.2.254. The other, potentially less stable option, with only one Ethernet connection to the Mac, is to put the TPLink router into bridge mode. I suspect it is not currently running in that mode. The fact that your setup was running before was likely a fluke. Since you updated Eucon it’s most likely that all IP address got reassigned and now you’re getting conflicts between the Linksys and the TPLink. Last edited by its2loud; 03-23-2025 at 05:05 AM. |

Thank you for such a detailed reply - I truly appreciate it!
... I only have a single TP-Link unit, which provides Wifi for the tablets and LAN ethernet for the control surfaces. The IP is different from the home Linksys network. (192.168.1.1 and 192.168.0.1) and provides a completely different WiFi network from the home network. (SSID LinksysHome vs Eucon_5G) The Mac is plugged into the LAN port of the TP-Link The Mac service order is: 1) Ethernet then 2) Wifi. All others disabled. Reading your reply it would be straight forward to create a second ethernet port via USB and dedicate it to the Auction network. It is worth a try. But however... I just did this... If disconnected EVERYTHING except for the TP-Link connection to the Mac, Disconnected the internet, NAS etc and I still have the problem! Now I have: MAC <-ethernet to LAN-> TP-LINK <- S1, S1, Dock TP-LINK WiFi <-> Tablets All the surfaces and tablets work fine. They are seen and function fully EXCEPT again for the tablet meters. The Time code works, the compression part of the meters is fine as is all the realtime displaying. However the METERS freeze and lock. Surface meters also fine. Now having done this - If I now create a second Ethernet port on the MAC to add the Home NAS network how would that fix the issue? In other words it is NOT the connection (IP) issues that seems to be at fault. Cheers! Phil |

Hello everyone, could you please tell if this EUCON version is compatible with Pro tools studio 2023.12?
Thanks in advance. Ilias |

Yes, it will work. You obviously won't get some features or bug fixes from newer versions though.

What kind of Mac is this? Does it have 10GBit ethernet? @Eddie, wasn't the 10Gbit ethernet on the Mac Studios causing some issues with Eucon or am I just making that up? |

Yes the Mac Studios with the 10Gb connections are not the best.

Thanks, I thought so. This is why I went with a USB-C to Ethernet adapter for my Eucon connection.
