HELP needed hooking up 002, PTLE 6.1 & Panther G5
Just picked up the 002R. I installed PT LE 6.1 disk on my G5 with OSX w/ Panther.
When I open PT LE I get a "DAE error 1 was encountered" and it quits. Please advise? Thanks!

yes, PT 6.2.2 is a must for Panther 10.3. Can be gotten from dealer or directly downloaded from Digidesign. They say you can't download it with a normal modem because it is too big and most ISPs will cut you off before it is done, but I have downloaded their updates this way no prob.

Re: HELP needed hooking up 002, PTLE 6.1 & Panther G5
well, 6.2.2 on panther is quite a bit more stable in my experience than on 6.1.2 on Jaguar. Also it will bounce things that play through fine (i.e. no CPU overusage) which it did not do often on Jag (would often stop bouncing after about 1:30 min with unwarranted cpu overload). This is with an Mbox. features are not really any different on panther, except cool panther stuff like expose that will let you view both mix and edit windows shrunk down - great for mixing because you can see everything thats going on even if you only have one monitor. good luck.

Re: HELP needed hooking up 002, PTLE 6.1 & Panther
I also just got my new stuff (G5 dual 1.8 & 002R). When attempting to launch, I also got the same error message "DAE error 1". After reading this thread I realized that I need PT LE 6.2. Since the place I purchased my 002R (Sweetwater) is closed today, as is DigiDesign, and my dial up probably won't handle the download, I guess I'll have to wait a few days to get my updated version.
Question: Has anyone had the same experience with Sweetwater? My rep asked me what version of OSX I'd be running and I told him Panther but they still sent me the wrong LE version. Will I have to send the whole 002R back or will they just FEDEX me the upgrade. Or will I have to get it from Digi?? Thanks, -Scott
