One fader not working

So I have one fader that does not work. If I use my mouse in the mix window, the fader will go up and down on the Avid Artist Mix. However, if I just use the physical fader, nothing happens or actually sometimes it all of a sudden jumps up. So in a nutshell,
1) Fader works from mix window to Artist Mix
2( Fader will not work from artist mix to mix window.
I tried shooting a little compressed air into the slot but no changes. I am afraid to go any further than that.
Any ideas?

This sounds like you have lost touch sense. Try taking the cap off and see if that helps. If not you need to change the fader. There is a post about this on here somewhere.
