Default Export Tracks to Session, Feature Request...

Doing fixes on the stage and wishing that I could select the add tracks in my cutting session and export them as a consolidated session instead of, deleting the unused tracks, save as (new session file name), then save copy with audio files.

Somehow this has gotta to have been requested before.

Thanks,
JR

It is a fabulous idea! Yes I think it has been requested before in more than one venue. There is no logic, other than an intent to charge for the correction sometime in the future, that they would not have implemented it by now, at least 10 years after it was requested as I factually know of .

Yeah, grammar were not my best subject in school.

+1 to the concept

-1 for grammar

I've desperately needed to be able to select a handful of tracks, and save those as a self-contained session to my laptop before heading off to a studio.

Is this on IdeaScale?

Yes. It's called "save selected as session". But nobody seems to like it.

Vote here too: http://protools.ideascale.com/a/dtd/...cks/25977-3779

Now you can vote twice until they merge the threads in Ideascale.

I really need this feature. It's so obvious...

You could do this the other way around. Instead of selecting and exporting tracks to a new session,

Close your current session.
Create a new session.
Import session data, only selecting the tracks you want
Select copy from source media

And you have a new session with only your desired content.

Yes, that would be the "good" old way of jumping through 4 hoops.

PT is missing an export tracks or even better an "export selected as session" feature. Ultimately multiple sequence handling like in any of the other DAWs and NLEs would be about time.
