Default Problems using vnc from an MAC

I use an MacMini for recording with PT and connect to my S3L via Chicken the VNC.
It was working perfectly on 4.1.3
But now after updating to 4.5 it does not work anymore as before. Its extremely slow and all the pop up dialogues does not show up.
If i connect to S3L using an Windows 7 Thinkpad it works as before.
So what can i do here? Any help please?!

It looks like chicken does not support the vnc protocol version coming with ECx 4.0. But the RealVNC Viewer for Mac works fine!

Does not work either.
And i was too fast with "works with my Windows 7 Laptop" - it is also not working flawless with my laptop, but better then with the Mac.

I re-installed Venue Software (made a restore for the 5th time now) - still not working.

Also tried to connect the E3 Engine directly to the MAC with the settings as AVID suggests - same result here.

This is getting frustrating.

hmm do you have a screen connected to the e3 at the same time? i just found out, that as soon as i disconnect the local screen, the remote session starts lagging big time!

No - of course i do not have the screen connected to the E3 - so do u have the same problem - without connection of the screen directly to the E3?

i get the same problem as soon as i disconnect the local screen while I have a remote session open on a laptop. if I put the local screen back on the e3, the remote session on the laptop starts working fine again as well.

Davoetta,

We are aware of this issue and you are correct it is new to version 4.5 (it's related to the change to Windows 8).

There is a workaround which may or may not work for you. If you have a monitor that has both DVI and VGA ports, you can connect the E3 DVI output to the monitors DVI input, then use a Thunderbolt to VGA adapter to connect your Mac to the monitors VGA input.

ECx will run smoothly with this config. Let me know if you have questions and we apologize for any inconvenience.

Thanks for the Workaround, but this is not working for me - as when i do smaller Live Jobs i mix without the Surface - just wireless with my Tablet PC (with Digitizer) - so i just will stick in my Monitor and it should be ok for that.

But the other thing is - when i record or playback - i use my Mac Mini (that is connected to the screen and where PT is open) to control the Engine via VNC - so i have both programms side by side.
This is not working anymore - so this is a little problem for me - but i hope u will bring an fix for that as soon as possible.
