Default Operating system held off interrupts for too long

Hi guys

I am attempting to run MBox Mini on an Acer TravelMate4272WLMi running with an Intel Core Duo processor T2300 (1.66 GHz) and 1 Gb of RAM. The Chipset is a 945PM and I have Windows XP Pro with Service Pack 2.

After the initial excitement of at last being able to throw away Acid Pro I suddenly became aware of all the incompatibility problems with running ProTools on PC. So here is my problem...when hit playback I get the message:

The operating system held off interrupts for too long. If this occurs often, try increasing the H/W Buffer Size in the Playback Engine Dialog. (-9093)

Increasing the buffer size did nothing. Anyone got thoughts?

I had this same Problem... But with a Digi002r ... My problem was solved by getting a recommended Firewire card for my PC. I see that you have a laptop.. and its a Mbox.. which is USB. So I'm not sure waht you should do. But you might want to think along the lins of what fixd my problem.

Here is the fix to your error.

It worked for me =)
DAE Errors 9092, 9093, or 9094, 9129 on Windows XP systems with dual core processors.
These errors can be caused by problems with processor scheduling in dual core processors. The solution is to assign Pro Tools to run on a specific processor core.

To do this:

1. Launch Pro Tools, but do not create or open a session.

2. Right click on the Task Bar and select 'Task Manager'.

3. Click on the Processes tab, then right-click on ProToolsLE.exe and select 'Set Affinity' from the drop down menu.

4. Uncheck the box for CPU 0.

5. Click OK and close the Task Manager.

You will have to do this each time you launch Pro Tools unless you use and application like THG Task Assignment Tool.

More info on the THG Task Assignment Tool can be found here:
