Mbox Playback issue

I just got a Power Mac G5 and setup my Mbox and protools 6.9.2 (Compatible with OSX 10.4.2) I am able to hear my instruments while I'm recording but when I play back the track the mix levels indicate sound but I hear nothing out of my speakers or headphones. Is there anything that I forgot to do when I set up PT? Or how can I fix this?

The mix knob on the front of your mbox is probably turned all the way to input. Turn it toward playback.

ive already tried all the outputs on the mbox and the mix knob is on playback. I used the Mbox on a pc before so im not totally new to this

Are your faders up or down, and if they're down, is automation in "Read" mode?

might sound crazy but have you installed the latest core audio driver?

The Core Audio driver is not required for playback from Pro Tools.

If the mix knob is at playback and you're still not hearing anything, make sure that your speakers/monitor system are connected from the 'Line Output' on the back of the Mbox.

If everything is corrected properly, you should probably try trashing preferences - info on how to do this is in the 'OSX Setup and General Troubleshooting' sticky at the top of this forum.

Unfortunately the Trouble shooting has not cleared up my issue. Is there anything else that I could try

I'm having an all-to-similar problem with my digi 001 attached to a PC. We've been going back and forth on it for quite some time. Search for "midi playback not coming thru". Some of the answers I got might be transferable to your mac-based 002r since I am using a PC w. PTLE 6.4. I can't be sure though.

I tried contacting digi tech support but they didn't really think it over. They ended up quoting manuals with rudimentary knowledge that I already knew.

I belive our problems to be very easy to solve. However, it's such a small adjustment that nobody knows how to fix it, at least that I've seen.

If you haven't already, try trashing preferences and switching midi cables. I've tried all the hard stuff and am on to the stuff that you never think about.
