Default Bouncing w/VSO

I'm doing a transfer of some very old 1/4" tapes that are off speed. I've found the proper VSO percentage, but when I bounce to disk it does not bounce with the VSO amount. All it does is bounce at it's original speed. I've never had to bounce with these settings so I'm wondering if there's something that I'm missing.

Session is 88.4 - 24bit
Bouncing at 1.08 VSO to 44.1 - 16bit WAV

Any help?

Of course it won't change it's speed that way, because both session and bounced file are clocked to that clock... You can transpose bounced file destructively with those settings.

That's kinda what I thought, but then what's the point? I don't use VSO ever in post, but it would seem that when you readjust the playback speed of ProTools you'd want it to be able to create a file based on you session speed? If you can obviously bounce at different sample rates, etc, why is this not the same?

Maybe I'm just not familiar enough with VSO to really understand it's uses.

thx
