The slow measured performance won't be because there are SATA drives installed on the Sonnet 4x4 card, the Sonnet M.2 slots are all M-key so will only accept PCIe M.2 cards.

Would be interesting to know exactly what M.2 cards they are.

And Steven I was not "correcting" you. I thought your point that the Studio has great internal storage was important, I was just pointing out the performance number for the Mac Pro looked slow and some other rambling.

BTW Dave are you sure you see 3.5 GB/s for a single M.2 drive on that 4x4 card, that number seems a bit high. What Samsung M.2 drives were they? Standard Blackmagic test, not some other measurement?

Sorry was away for a bit. I'm using the M2 as separate drives on the Mac Pro with the Sonnett 4xM2 card. It is in a x16 Pcie slot.
