Default PT for Live Performance - Can I do this?

Hi guys,

Firstly, hello. This is my first post here

I am looking at options for a live track playback system for a workshop musical. A lot of the stuff is a prerecord, and I would like to use a sequencer/DAW (ie PT) to play it back.

However, something I have come across with many other sequencers is that once "Play" is pressed, that's it. You can't have it automatically stop/pause at a certain point (a timecode point, or a marker) and then continue on with a "Play" command.

It PT capable of this? For example, if I had Song 1 from 0:00:00.000 to 0:01:30.000, could I get PT to automatically stop there and wait for the next "Play" command to carry on (until, for example, 0:02.45.000) and then pause again until etc etc etc...

Also, can you tell me if the M-Powered system accepts MMC and MSC (MIDI Show Control), and if not, does its big brothers?

Many thanks for your time,

Martin Hughes
