Random Blasts of White Noise

I recently upgraded to PTMP 7.4 and love EA. However, while recording I occasionally get random blasts of white noise which are very unsettling. Didn't happen in 7.3. PT even records these blasts and has ruined some otherwise excellent takes, but I can rerecord a track and it won't happen. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to the occurence but it happens enough to me to seek advice. Anyone else having this problem?

Make sure you have the latest PACE drivers here.

Make sure your plug-ins are updated to the latest versions.

Trash your PT preferences (see the General Troubleshooting Thread for more information about that.

Some recommend defragmenting your drives.

Try using a power conditioner with your setup if you don't already.

Pray.

Cover your ears.
