Default Will PTIII Users be able to use RTAS?

It sure would be nice if PTIII TDM could use RTAS plug-ins with version 5.1
Will this be possible?

Hi Folks,

Thanks for the interest, and my apologies for the delay in responding.

Unfortunately, we currently do not have PTIII hardware working with our upcoming Pro Tools 5.1 release. Given the current time frame and programing/test schedules, PTIII hardware support will not be available in this initial release. We hope to be able to add single disk I/O PTIII support to Pro Tools 5.1 at a later date.

Hi Bob,

Thanks for the reply.I guess this is one upgrade I'll hold off then, unless there is some other good reason for me to do so.When the time frame is clarified for PTIII support, I'd appreciate a heads up.

Regards,

Jim Clark

Wow! I could be mistaken, but I never recall this being mentioned anywhere in ads or promos. This point of "temporary" incompatability ought to be highlighted by advertising, etc.- if it isn't already. I know PTIII is out-dated now, but there's still alot of us using it who shouldn't be overlooked and uninformed. Perhaps, you could have a section on your web-site that only mentions things pertaining to PTIII systems. Does this already exist somewhere?

Ah crap! I was lead to believe that multitrack capabilities (5.1 mixing etc) were the only thing that you needed a 24/Mix system for..

bummer..
