Seems like a knee-jerk reaction.

They will arrive on the Windows platform at some point, just be patient.

It may happen this year, it may happen in the new year.

You'll be even more annoyed if you get rid of them in haste, and then they're ported a week later.

But it boils down to which product your business is more dependant upon - Pro Tools 11, or McDSP plug-ins.

It seems to me that McDSP are fundamental to your sound, but you desperately want to be able to move to PT11, which you can't realistically do without McDSP - the fact that you seem so emotional about the situation speaks volumes about how much you really love McDSP's products.

From my point of view, I'm in the same basic situation :

I own PT11 (though I haven't even bothered installing it yet, because I know there are several plug-in vendors that I'm still waiting on), and I own a truckload of McDSP plug-ins.

At the end of the day, PT11 has a load of enticing (in fact down right revolutionary) features, but they are all essentially a bonus.

PT10 still works exactly the same as it always has done, so there's no change to my business from that point of view.

McDSP plug-ins are fundamental to my workflow, and abandoning them on a whim is just not viable for me, considering the amount of projects I have (both archived, and on-running) that are sonically dependant upon them.

I can keep on trucking as I have been for years, no negative effects on my business, or for my clients, and when all the plug-in vendors who's products I choose to use have migrated to AAX64bit (Mac & Windows), I reap all the benefits of Pro Tools 11.

Just be patient, it's much less stressful .

I don't use Pro Tools 10 at all anymore I only use PT11. Its been what 5 months now since PT11 has been out and I dearly missed my Channel G and ML4000 but I have been working for the last 5 months without any MacDSP Plug-Ins and IM getting to a point that I don't really miss them that much IM still working. All the while MacDSP is porting to MAC made 4 new plug-ins all MAC and forgotten about all the people out there that where customers when they could use the product but it seems at this point they have abandoned the Windows side of the business and only want MAC customers so I will just keep using the replacements I have been and move on.

I seriously doubt that, but if you've moved on, I guess the only grumble you have is if you can't sell the v5 assets.

Have you decided what you're going to do, if you still have the assets when the Windows versions are released :

Refuse to install them on principle?

or

Realise that you hadn't really moved on, and it was just a lovers tiff?

Well IM sure if they ever release windows version I will end up using them at some point and we will make up and forgive each other just like pretty much everyone has forgiven AIR Tech now after people were ready to close them down. Really my point is I would not have spent the money on the V5 upgrade if I had known that MacDSP wasn't planning on going AAX 64bit Windows anytime soon after Pro Tools 11. I upgraded the plug-ins, bought more RAM, bought a new Hard Drive and reset my whole OS all to be ready for PT11 and then what was my Favorite Plug-In company falls on their face.

Same could be said for Uaudio powered plugins and Softube, but they're working on it. I suspect all the manufacturers will eventually get their AAX-2 ducks in a row, the option being to opt out of support for a very LARGE client base, which I don't see happening.

Just a reminder but an old fashioned email to their contact address about Windows availability and your concerns is not going to hurt anything.

The FabFilter Pro MB is a really nice multiband with intuitive control. Compression and expansion from an external key. Good sound. Responsive. Easy on the CPU.

Come on Colin, you're giving us no choice but to switch. At least put a timeframe on it and hold your team (and yourself) accountable.
