Default FW 800 or 400 to connect to Audio Drive

With PT 7.3.1 and my Mbox 2 Pro, it was always said to use the FW400 port on my Mac Book Pro, and daisy chain the audio hard drive and the PT interface from there.

Now, with PT9, and no Mbox 2 Pro (or any other interface) plugged in, is it OK to use the FW800 port to connect my audio drive? Is it still necessary to use 400? Does it matter?

Thanks

Hi,

800 is preferable! 400 is still ok but 800 is much faster will give better performance and higher track count

Thumbs up Re: FW 800 or 400 to connect to Audio Drive

My audio drive only has FW800 ports, and it works like a champ on the FW800 bus (MacBook Pro, early 2008).
