So frustrated!! Help!
Hello, and Thank you god if you can help me : )
So i have a DIGI 003+ rack, yesterday I went to lay down drums, 8 tracks at once, but for some reason i only got signal on tracks 1,3,5,7, which seems odd to me, is there some setting I have to change in my I/O? In my preferences? Any help would be greatly appreciated, regardless of the problem i got a pretty solid sound with 4 mics : ) -Thank you! Hope that isnt to much of a "NEWB" question |

Re: So frustrated!! Help!
1,3,5,7: definitely odd (sorry, couldn't resist )
Without knowing for sure how the 003 inputs are mapped to Pro Tools audio tracks, let's check on a couple things... Assuming your 8 track recording involves 8 separate mics, the 003R has mic preamps on only the first 4 inputs - are you using outboard mic pres to boost mic signals on the 4 line inputs? And are all mics that require phantom power getting it? If the answer to either of these is no for some channels, those channels would have low signal levels and it might appear there is no signal present. The I/O Setup window has very similar appearing pages for Inputs and Outputs and it defaults to the last page viewed when you open it, so sometimes it's necessary to click on the Inputs tab to get that page. Double-check that you actually are looking at the Inputs page and that the grid maps logical inputs A 1-2 to Analog 1-2, A 3-4 to Analog 3-4, and so on. Then assuming you are recording 8 monaural tracks, check that you have 8 mono audio tracks with inputs in ascending order, input A1 for track 1, A2 for track 2, etc. If you have all of these things, record enable each track and bring up the input level controls on all of the mic preamps, I think you should see signal on each track.
