Exclamation Help! / 7.3 to 8.0.3 / Windows 7 /Install DAE Problem !

I'd appreciate any help with the following problem. I bought PT LE 7.3 Factory Rack 003 for Windows in 2008 from Sam Ash for $1500. I used it maybe 3 times before a family issue came up which took me completely away from recording. Fast forward to now. I'm now back in the studio and would like to use PT. I have since bought a Dell 540 desktop quad core with 6 GB of ram and 1 1/2 TB hard drive. Operating system is Windows 7. At NAMM last month a rep at Avid sent me a download of 8.0.3, the first version that he said would work with Windows 7. I did a clean download and install, but on the launch, I am running into the DAE 1115 error code every time. I have tried everything imaginable. Isin't 8.0.3 a Beta version? Therefore, shakey at best on Windows 7? The NAMM rep also sent me 8.0.5 Updater download but I can't install that until I can properly get 8.0.3 to install properly. I was an IT tech for 10 years so I know around OK on the hardware side. I have spent at least 8 hours so far on this problem. I'm a burnt out on it. I have tried uninstalling, reinstalling, optimizing Windows to the max, etc, etc. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Pro Tools 8.0.3 should be a full installer, correct? Update Pro Tools to 8.0.5 if this is so. Also can you post a sandra report?

Win7 needs 8.04 or higher to run.

Install 8.03 but don't open it. Run the 8.05 updater as Filosofem said.

Download and install the latest 003 drivers if you haven't done so already;

http://avid.custkb.com/avid/app/self...3=1450&Hilite=

I install them with 003 turned off then reboot with it turned on.

Also, you may need to;

Control Panel>Device Manager>double-click on IEEE 1394 Bus host controllers>Double-click on the controller (or port) that your FireWire interface is connected to.
Click on the Driver tab.
Click on Update Driver.
Choose 'Browse my computer for driver software'.
Choose 'Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer'.
Choose '1394 OHCI Compliant Host Controller (Legacy)'.
OK.
Restart the computer.

Hey zed, Pro Tools 8.0.3 was the public beta version for Windows 7.

Correct me, I thought the above procedure is for Pro Tools 9 and above versions?

I installed 8.0.5. Updater. It got rid of DAE error 1115, but now gives me DAE error 6006. I did everything that was suggested. Here's the requested Sandra report:

JSOM, DAE Error-6006 points to a audio driver, have you tried the 003 solution posted by zed?

Yes, still no good. My FireWire ports are tested and good. I'm concerned that the 1394 (firewire) indicator light is constantly blinking on the front of the 003 Factory Rack, in the back of the Rack it's steady.

FILO: Wasn't using the correct firewire 'Legacy"controller. Completely my fault and a really stupid oversite. I was moving too fast I guess. ProTools LE 8.0.5 has finally "launched" properly all the way through in concert with the Factory 003 Rack using Windows 7. Thanks for much for your help and your time. Step one complete. I need a drink. Here's to 'ya.
