First boot of 2020.11 - it's taken about 15 mins so far. Looking at every plug-in for 20-30 seconds each. Still not finished.........

Mac Pro 7,1 16-core.

No high CPU, memory or disk activity. What is it doing?????

Great update! Absolutely love dark mode...

Re Quicktime bounce--I don't care how long it takes--we have it back. (And it's a lot shorter than opening up another program, transferring assets, creating new automation, exporting, etc.)

Very happy

Same here. Takes about 10 minutes to load Pro Tools, then 10 more minutes to load a session. Seems to take a very long time loading plugins. I have restarted, cold-booted, etc..

Looks like Avid Link was installed again, so I'm going to try and remove that and see if things change.

No problem on the 2012 cheesegrater in my profile page. Overall for a first boot it took maybe 90 seconds and I have a LOT of plugins.

This is great news. Itching to try this but mid project

Remember that on a Mac you can have multiple versions of the same program. I have PT 2019.6 and I named it PT 2019.6 instead of just PT. That means when I install another version of PT the first one isn't molested. The only thing that changes is the workspace file and that gets re-written whenever you open a different PT version and so far that hasn't caused any issues.

I just installed, and the installer took forever on the end part, "Running Package Scripts" and the whole time my machine was very slow, stuttering with freezes every couple of seconds.

This behaviour continued after a restart and a reinstall. So I decided to just launch. Bounced for an eternity in the dock, thought it had crashed and quit (stopped bouncing) and then two minutes later the splash screen shows up. Pro Tools loads very slowly, but it does work.

Open a session from today, and HOLY ****. Finally 32 samples on my PCIe RayDAT, WITH INSTRUMENTS!!!! Kontakt 5 at 32 buffer, working great. And the CPU usage is low, exactly where it was in every other app for the past 5 to 10 years. It's disgusting it's taken this long to catch up. Beforehand, anything below 128 and pressing rec on a midi track would completely freeze the system.

Close and restart to go back to regular skin, back to regular performance it seems. The graphics seem smoother as well but that may well placebo from the dark mode.

Looks like I spoke too soon. I don't know what happened, but everything was running smooth, and then when I launched Pro Tools again, it took quite some time to open it, after that, my Mac started acting up, it started lagging so much, apps wouldn't launch, they just kept bouncing in the dock, it was a mess.
So I uninstalled Pro Tools 2020.11 and installed Pro Tools 2020.9 (where the hell can I find 2020.9.1? can anyone please send me a DMG file?).
Now with Pro Tools 2020.9 installed, everything runs as it did before.
Pro Tools 2020.11 was the last thing I installed before everything started lagging.
