Default New Macbook Pro Retina 15 with PT 11HD?

These units come with 10.9 installed. Is it possible to carbon copy clone the drive from a 10.8.4 config?

I had a chance to use the previous gen 15 MBPr and was extremely impressed with the speed on it.

About 2 months ago I setup a 15inch 2.3 with maxed out ram and 1tb samsung hhd. I've been very satisfied with the performance, but it's not quite as fast as the early 2013 15inch MBPr.

Just wondering if anybody's tried out the new laptops.

Sorry, i geuss I'm just lusting a little LOL

Have a good one all

Hi

We have both the february 2013 MBPr w/16 GB Ram 15" and last week we got the new MBPr 15" w/10.9 and just as a test we installed all our toys on it but there are LOTS of stuff that is weird so regarding Mavericks I would NOT get anything with it installed. Partly cause Avid will be sometime before they get it working and secondly 10.8.5 works GREAT with HD10 and HD11 so there is absolutely no need for the 10.9 for a while until everything is tested and a few updates of 10.9 have been out and tested 100%.

In closing please don't jump on anything 10.9 right now as it will be lots of headaches and swearwords so wait and if you wanna get a MBPr now get one with 10.8 on it as that is really stable and works perfectly for now

There is no way of installing 10.7 on 2012 Retina with 10.8 preinstalled, and I would think the same scheme applies to the new ones.

Easiest way to check is to make the CarbonCopy clone of your 10.8.4 partition to an external drive, and take it to the Apple store to see if the Macbook you want to buy will boot from it.

FWIW, I have the version just before that MBP (non-Retina, same processor) and it works just fine on 10.8.3, as does a friends Retina (previous version from what you're looking at).
