We're having a very frustrating issue with Pro Tools MIDI, where we copy and paste a MIDI region and the first note in that region disappears in the new pasted region. Sometimes the same part copies and pastes perfectly, but further in the timeline the region is missing notes in the downbeat (all MIDI is quantized so that's not the issue).
Has anyone else encountered this issue? See photos below for a better description: Pic 1: simple midi part to grid Pic 2: same part copied perfectly Pic 3: same part copied but all of a sudden it's missing the first two notes The setup with this error is: MacPro 6,1 (Trash Can) 3 Ghz 10-Core Intel Zeon E5 (128 GB RAM) macOS 10.13.6 High Sierra Pro Tools Studio 2019.6.0 |

This issue was listed as fixed in the 2022.6 release notes:
MIDI notes should no longer disappear when copy/pasting MIDI clips (PT-278475) However, 2022.6 - .10 have an issue with frozen notes when editing. 2022.12 provides the most comprehensive MIDI fix to date. Be advised, even after updating some previous sessions might still be affected by older issues (according to one of my AVID support emails). The current fixes can be experienced more in new sessions.

This happens for me a lot but it is always because the notes that disappear are starting prior to the bar.. if you zoom all the way in there are you really sure they are after the bar?
If you drag the beginning of the missing clip backward with trim tool, do your notes reappear? Anecdotally, MIDI in 2022.12 has been really unstable for me working every day, but this isn't one of the issues for me |

Yeah this is still happening for me 2022.12. If you pull the left hand side of the clip region back a tiny tiny amount (use slip mode, obviously) the notes will reappear.

Are these issues still happening in new sessions created in 2022.12? (No data imported from a previous session)

yeah this happens for me in new sessions with no imports in 2022.12 but I don't really consider this one a bug, as much as it would be nice if it just worked. It never happens here unless the midi notes are a hair ahead of the bar

I'm not using 2012.12 right now to tell if that still happens. As a quick note, I've been able get the notes to reappear by dragging the edges of a clip in Grid mode also.

Changing between Sample and Tick base on the MIDI track may affect the nature of this manifesting, though it will not solve the problem.
There are other options with will reduce the manifestation of this bug. Using the Repeat function and moreover, the Loop tool might help. One thing for sure to stop it is to use a MIDI Clip for the whole track and cut/copy and paste at the MIDI not level i.e. switch to the MIDI note view for editing and you will never see disappearing notes again!
