Version?
Good day.
Where can I see exactly which version of Pro Tools I have and which is the latest update that I had? I'm having an AAE-6101 error but I want to put out there my Pro Tools version etc before asking questions. Thank you. |

Re: Version?
The version is shown in the splash/startup screen when you start Pro Tools or go to the Menu Bar and use Pro Tools>About
That's the best easy way to tell for sure. If you absolutely cannot get Pro Tools to start or can't see that splash/version screen you can tell the version of Pro Tools installed on a Mac by running the following command in Terminal.app. $ /usr/libexec/PlistBuddy -c 'Print :CFBundleGetInfoString:' /Applications/Pro\ Tools.app/Contents/Info.plist ($ is the command prompt, don't type that, and it will likely be different on your Mac). You should see something like: 22.10.0.134, Copyright 1991-2022 Avid Technology, Inc. for Pro Tools 2022.10 in this case. Last edited by Darryl Ramm; 12-16-2022 at 05:16 PM. |

Re: Version?
Oh and on AAE-6101 errors make sure you read the knowledge base article: https://avid.secure.force.com/pkb/ar...-Pro-Tools-Mac
Provide as much info as you can. Especially audio interface and interface driver version, and describe any troubleshooting you have tried. Have a read under "Help us help you" up the top of each DUC web page. Make sure you systems is optimized as described there, and it's probably a good idea to some of the standard troubleshooting, even beyond that KB article, including trashing prefs (actually always start troubleshooting by trashing prefs... use Pete Gate's lovely v2 of his PT Prefs utility http://petegates.com/pgptprefs.html), and see what happens when you move all plugins out of the plugin folder, and try repeating test from a newly created admin account on your Mac. |

Re: Version?
And, for those running Windows, if you right-click on Start>Apps and features>Programs and features, once the list of programs populates, the exact version of Pro Tools will be shown at the far right
