Need Help! System 5 modules/eucon setup

ok so me and my studio partner purchased 5 cm408's, a cm402 and cm401 to use as a controller for eucon 3.6.1 to control cubase. we purchased them from 3 different sources via reverb mostly. i have a bunchof questions on how to get this setup

i was under the impression i could hook all the units up to an ethernet switch (i have a tp link one) and then into my mac pro and use eucon 3.6.1 and use them as a daw controller for cubase..

but do i need one of the system computers regardless of if im just using it for eucon like an sc261

lastly what is the newest known mac OS to run 3.6.1 i had seen a mention of catalina anyone had success say on an m1 machine? we have a new mac studio id love to use as the base of our studio but i also have a maxed out old mac pro i can put catalina on

any help would be greatly appreciated as we have dropped a large amount on this rig and there is next to no documentaiton as to how to get it rolling..
