Re: 48khz not supported
I can say "forever support" by RME makes their price reasonable. Knowing it'll never stop working due to the manufacturer "moving on"

Re: 48khz not supported
Yep. I try not to sound too much like a biased RME fan boi here. A hardware company with excellent software/firmware. Some others have that... but don't all have that long term support culture. They just have a "culture of technical competence". Folks willing to talk/answer detailed technical questions. They have probably won me for life. I still have no idea how the heck you are supposed to use the cable hook on the back

Re: 48khz not supported
That’s strain relief. Most of the time on the rack equipment to prevent unplugging of power by moving a rack. Reason why they have locking power supplies on most of the equipment without them.
There was a bug with MADI fibre when no cable was plugged in (would crash) on the HDSPe cards and Matthias had me a beta that fixed it overnight.

Re: 48khz not supported
Yep I know it's strain relief, my bad humor, I just don't think it's very well designed/easy to use. Few of these are. Think things are better just taking the weight off of signal cables by feeding through horizontal rear rack plenums and for power run a vertical PDU up the inside back of the rack and use short IEC cables (thank you Tripp-Lite) to each box, if only companies could sort out what side the danged IEC power receptacle should be on.

Re: 48khz not supported
So, here is the solutuon for now:
First, 48k seems find in Audio MIDI Setup until I launch protools. When I made an aggregate device with my Profire 610, with the profire as the clock source, it worked just fine. So, what I ended up doing is creating another aggregate with the internal sound as the clock and that works just fine. Again, this isn't for anything major. I do like the Profire but driver support ended years ago. If I get the chance to start doing more recording I am going to look into a newer interface and I really like RME for their support but It's hard for me to justify the price when this is just a hobby for me. That said, I get a lot of gear on ebay and you never know. I bought my first Mbox (the original one) new from sweetwater. Since then I have only bought used stuff. My ProFire 610 cost only $35 a while back. I know it isn't as good as a lot of new stuff, but it sure beats anything under $100 on the market today. |

I still have a ProFire 2626 that works well. If you're on Windows the old Win 7 drivers still work with Win 11. Joel
