Metric AB (Intel Only All Formats) is on Sale today, and Plugin Alliance posted this on a Facebook post about their plugins:

ARM chips come with a different infrastructure than Intel chips, which means that for every segment of your audio setup, developers have to learn a new language. This was and is a long process for Brainworx and our third-party partners in Plugin Alliance since we first had to wait for all our supported platforms to support the M1 chip themselves and also the new macOS version that came with it. Then, making one thing work on Logic can break another thing it in Ableton, so you go through that merry-go-round until it finally works for all supported systems. Now add hardware protocols to the process and you may get an idea why M1 support isn't something you just switch on.

I'm not entirely buying what they're saying here. ADTPR are the among the few plugins on PA that are programmed using JUCE, and yet Metric AB still isn't Apple Silicon. Is it perhaps that they make more money from Sculpt and so their focus is on profit than "learning a new language"?

The developers are working hard on bringing native Silicon support to every plugin in our catalogue eventually. However, coordinating this effort across the many different teams and companies is no small task. Therefore, new plugins will be released with native support already included, while we keep adding it to more and more existing plugins.
All non-compatible plugins already work through the Rosetta-2 layer.

Working hard to support.. eventually? What, when Apple release a computer that doesn't run rosetta you might do something? Wow, fills us with confidence. Rest assured any new profit grabbing products that come to market will work out the gate. If this is the brave new world of plugin development, I'm off to find PA replacements..

ADPTR had a Apple Silicon version in public beta 6+ months ago. Plugin Alliance is the delay not them.

Yes I should have clarified that in my post. My beef is with what appears to be profit driven decisions by PA.

Agreed. Still waiting for a release of the Amek EQ 250 with Native support. Not getting a warm fuzzy feeling about it happening anytime soon. Perhaps there is a replacement out there from a different company?
