Default USD creating pops, clicks, dropouts

Hey there tech support or anyone who's had similar problems.

My USD has started producing random audio pops, clicks, dropouts, etc. I know it is the USD creating these becuase when I turn it off or unplug the sync cable it all stops.

I suspect that something inside the unit is going bad but dont know what the best course of action is.

Hello,

What is the USD set to for its clock source? Try setting it to internal/VSO to see if its the clock source that is at fault. Also, try replacing the BNC cable between the USD and your first interface. Slave Clock BNC cables should not exceed .5 meters in length. If the problem persists with a new BNC cable and with the USD set to internal for its clock source the unit may be faulty. You can contact tech support at 650-731-6100 to setup an RA.

Mike

Mike,

Thanks for the quick response. Unit was set for internal clock.

Replaced the short sync cable and problem may be gone. I'll work with it for a while as it is inconsistant and has gone away before when unit warms up.

Thanks,

John
