Hi,
I had this problem for a while now and just can't work it out. I am wondering if anyone else had this problem and worked out how to fix it. Basically, Pro Tools HD2 v8.1.1 is recording things late. (OSX 10.6.6) Means, even played perfectly in time, the recorded wavefile is written late (roughly 30millisec), so I have to nudge it all the time. It is totally weird. It seems to only do it when recording with a lot of tracks playing at the sametime in a song (96+ tracks). If I go to the end of a session, record with just a click, there is no delay! Anyone have any ideas? Really appreciate your help. |

I never found the solution. Tried everything I can think of.
I don't have such problem with my LE systems on other machines... |

Any plugs on your master fader? Or the aux feeding the headphone mix? I know that messes with things on a native system. And you say delay compensation is off. Have you turned it on just for kicks? Just some thoughts.

I had some plugins then on the Master Fader, I already finished that project but the problem is still on going with other things. It just happends randomly and it is not consistent.
I upgraded to pro tools 9.06 and I still have the problem. |

limiter on the 2 bus will yield 30 - 40 ms latency

The recommended method is to record with Delay Comp on and make sure that you have the Compensate For Input Delays box checked in the IO setup in the input and output section. I overdub on big sessions all of the time with this method and have never had your problem. If anything, people rush most of the time. Ha
