Angry Access violation occurred, unable to read location: 0x00000004 at address: 0x075FE866

I've been getting this error all damn day. Is it my external HDD crapping out?! I have to restart every time it happens.

Access violation occurred, unable to read location: 0x00000004 at address: 0x075FE866 in module: ProTools.dll

Did you do a Disk Check? do an error check first then do this.

You also need to mention a whole lot of other stuff.

What version of Pro Tools?
What other software do you have installed? (That's ALL software, not just music software, and please be as detailed as possible including version numbers)
As Benoni requested, please post the specs of your machine.

Thumbs up Re: Access violation occurred, unable to read location: 0x00000004 at address: 0x075F

I don't always put all the specs just because a lot of the time people end up reading into irrelevant information and form suggestions that do not actually help in the end.

If you haven't seen this error before or you know nothing about it, then you probably won't be able to help me. All I need to know is what the error even means and I'll probably be able to address it on my own.

Regardless... I did a re-install of PT LE 8.0.3 on my Windows 7 Premium Sony Vaio VPCF115FM Laptop (modded with a 7200rpm HDD) and the problem went away so hopefully it doesn't come back. I think it was just a corrupted file.
