Default Automatic Compare Switching in Velvet VI

Hey AIR users out there,

I have an issue using Velvet. I loaded a preset and modified it slightly, but while recording, playback and even without giving any commands the "Compare"-Switch enlightens and the sound changes massively. Any ideas how to avoid that? The other VI (Kontakt Player 3.5) works fine.

Thanks a lot!

Best, handklang

could be wrong, but is plug-in automation is written to the track?

What if you change the track automation mode selector from 'auto read' to 'off' does the same thing happen?

If that fixes it, then you need to delete whatever automation is written to the track, click 'volume' on the track view selector and go to the bottom and it'll show you if you have any automation. Select that view, select the automation on the track and delete it.

Or creating a new instrument track with Velvet on it would do the same.

Hey Premo,

thanks for the reply. I tried changing the automation mode to "auto off", another thing I tried was opening a different PT session and creating a new VI track. I selected Velvet and waited a few seconds... without even hitting another knob Velvet switched to "Compare". That really scares me. I guess I´ll try to uninstall and then reinstall it. But if that does not help, I´m broke. I deinstalled IK Multimedia´s Classik Reverb, in case it is not compatible, but that did not solve the problem either. I use Guitar Rig 2, did not have problems with that until today. If you have any further ideas, they would be very welcome...

Best,

It could be that your controller keyboard is sending data intermittently that's affecting Velvet. Sometimes POTs go out and cause this. Try recording a MIDI track without recording any notes and let it go for a while. Take a a look at the track using the MIDI Event List and see if there's any CC data recorded.

Busch.

Send me a copy of the session with just the MIDI tracks and I'll take a look. airusersblog AT gmail DOT com

Hey burningbusch,

I guess that´s what causes the problems. I removed the MIDI cable from the controller keyboard and the error stopped after I realized that there was always some twinkling on the MIDI In on my DIGI002 rack, and immediately after that Velvet switched into Compare Mode. So the problem is at least localized...

@RussUK:

Thanks a lot. I´ll try to send the session containing just the MIDI tracks.
