Clearly no more CPU Clipping anymore by Apples system service "coreaudiod"
whichever playback engine buffer I use.

"After a research we noticed this is a known issue with the Apple CoreAudio implementation that started with Monterey 12.4. It needs to be fixed by Apple (they are aware of it and working on it). For now, if you can find a way back to Monterey 12.3.1 (not easy!) the problem should be solved."

Where did you hear this from?

This issue is kind of killing me right now. Considering rolling back to Mojave at the moment.

I just sent a GB of "Capture Data" to the Apple dev's this morning in relation to this. Will update, when I know more.

I would be curious to see what Macs people are using, that are being effected by this. So far, it seems to be mainly Mac Studio's

Me I´m on the Mac Pro 2019 3,5 GHz 8-Core Intel Xeon W.
The same issue in the MacBook Pro M1 13"

My MacbbokPro M1 Max does it too.
Also adding that it does not matter what Core Audio driver you use either.

I get this behavior on an Intel Mac Mini. (maxxed out) with RME coreaudio. Interestingly, i have a hard time getting it to stop playback when i set my pro tools buffer size to 1024, but it will almost always stop playback at any lower buffer size when i start playback with ANY core audio device (doesn't have to be the RME that is being used by the pro tools playback engine)

I could run at 128 or 256 buffer on the same system on Mojave and do anything i wanted with core audio and pro tools wouldn't care at all, now I feel like i have to be super careful.

Current Setup:

Pro Tools 2022.12
Monterey 12.6.3
Mac Mini i7
RME UFX-II
