Default Does anyone like Soft Sample Cell?

I'm trying to hear from users regarding Soft SampleCell.

Does it work well inside ProTools?

Does it read Akai & Roland?

Does it crash?

Are there good libraries?

Any info would be great.

Ouside of a few minor quirks that I'm sure Digidesign will fix, I absolutely love it. It integrates seemlessly with Pro Tools and as far as I know it reads AIFF & WAV files. It never crashes and the libraries are immense.

also a big fan of ssc.
it runs very smooth in the background. i wish the import from other disks would get worked out though.(akai, emu) that would be helpful. the libraries i have are really great. can't beat it for the money.
my 2 cents

FYI, you can use the utility called "Osmosis" from Bitheadz to convert Akai to SampleCell

What Piano, Pop Brass, and Drum libraries do you reccomend.

Currently I use "The Ultimate Sample Grand" on the E-mu. I love it. I just don't like the E-mu. It's too noisy.

I don't know about the Brass.

I have the Clearmountain Drum stuff and I like the Roland SRX Dynamic Drums for the 5080.

The latency seems tolerable when using Direct Connect into PT. I've converted a bunch of sample libraries (including Quantum Leap Brass) with no problems. I like sample cell, mainly for the integration with PT, if I weren't using PT I would probably go with something else. The new sampler from Native Instruments looks really cool too...
