I used to lightpipe directly from the G5 to a VP9000 sampler. I just plugged the adat cable in both machines and it worked without having to set anything up. Then I tried to go from the G5 to my 8-IN adat lightpipe on my MPC4000 sampler...no digital signal detected on any of the channels....My question is do the 8 channel lightpipe outs only work with other 8 channel lightpipe ins, and the stereo lightpipes outs only work with the stereo lightpipes ins? It seems like there are no settings on the G5 to mess with to try to get the output signal to a certain channel so that the sampler can find it...Let me know if you have suggestions..thanks!

Hi,

The optical out on the mac is Stereo only and is NOT an 8 channel Adat lightpipe connection. your vp9000 see it has a digital stereo signal.

So are you saying there is no way to get a stereo lightpipe output to a 8 channel lightpipe input?
