Default PT 10.2 & errors with VIs

For giggles i made a 32 bit session and added 25 Stereo VI tracks. I started adding instruments one by one to see how far i could go. Adding Omnisphere, all the rob papen, Superior and ez drummer, All the linplug stuff...i got to the 15th instrument track and added an instrument and i noticed PT start having issuse. 3 different errors when i hit the space bar to play the session. Keep in mind there are no midi notes at all just instruments on rtas. I was also not able to select anymore plugs or instruments. The menus where white out and i could see some of the plugs. The instrument menu wouldnt even open.. It def not a cpu thing cuz my cpu was at 9% I am running Mac Pro 3.0 dual quad core 8 gigs of ram osx 10.7.4. I did get a (fatal error not enough memory for this action) messge. Allot of other issues are fixed with 10.2.. Wonder what this is..

The use of that many VI's instantiated directly in Pro Tools will never work until 64 bit Pro Tools 11 comes out and allows the access to all of your RAM. Anyone using that many VI's use's VE Pro, Reaper, Plogue Bidule or any other third party app that can host the VI's, access all of your RAM and stream the instruments into Pro Tools.

You got to 15 VI's!?! I couldn't get past 5 or 6. That was on 10.1.3. Also, no midi notes recorded, no audio; just trying to set up a session where I could go from VI to VI and experiment--you know, free-associate. I'd love to get to 10 VI's. I'll have to try. Also, Avid has a webinar posted as an archive from May, where they used HD Native to record and mix a session. The presenters all strongly advised turning off ADC when using midi tracks. I'll try that at as well. When a musician is musing, it is a total buzz killer to stop, deactivate a track, instantiate a new VI, wait, load a sound, wait, then start playing again.
As opposed to: hit the track button, play--hit another track button--play--etc; totally cool, inspiring, and conducive to successful experimentation. Isn't that what composing/improvising is all about? C'mon 64 bit!!!!

You can already have your wish with VE Pro. Works like a charm. If that's all that Pro Tools 11 offers then it won't be that big of a deal.

And as a kind of bonus when using VEP, you can save v-frames (setups and combinations of VIs) and even preserve VE-instances so that large sample libraries haven't been loaded again and again !
Very useful when using large orchestration setups.

wow. never thought of running all my VI's at the same time. I generally will use some sounds out of Reason and then later on after I'm satisfied with everything and converting to audio I would bring in a different VI.

I get crashes with a single instance of superior drummer! Hosting in reaper is a drag.

So don't use Reaper. Try VE Pro. No crashes.

I usually export my sounds as i go. I was just testing.. It has gotten better after the 10.7.4 & PT 10.2 updates. I was only getting to 8 or 9 VIs.. Anyways this was just a test to see how far i could get. All my VIs work perfect, just cant use allot at once wich i dont need to do anyways. I was just wondering if anyone else was having the same issue.. Thank you for the replies
