PT Ulitmate Perputal lapsed - best way forward?

Hey,

I have a PT Ultimate perpetual license (native only, no hardware), I'm using Pro Tools all day professionally. 1-year update that came with it lapsed in mid-2020, I'm stuck on 2020.5 but no problem. I'm also running a 12-core cheesegrater and the system has been stable and the system did everything what it was supposed to do, so there wasn't a need to change it.

I'm gonna upgrade to either a new Mac Pro or an M1X 16-inch MacBook Pro when they come out and now with the new features that make the PT update worth it for me (dark mode, sidechain delay compensation etc.), I'm looking into getting the updates, either through a reinstatement or a 1-year subscription (right now at $499/one year)

What's the best way forward with the 1-year subscription vs perpetual? There's a probably a bunch who went through the same issue.

If I was only on Vanilla I wouldn't care about tiny price differences/savings, but with Ultimate it's a bit more money we're talking about.

Reinstatement for sure cause I'm not a fan of subscription licenses for the DAW I use everyday (my personal opinion). Only problem is it's getting harder and harder to find an Avid reseller that still has an Ultimate Reinstatement Plan for sale. If your in the states Alto Music still has them available for $999 either through their web store or eBay. It seems they have a good supply left cause eBay shows they have more then 10 left for sale. Still though the choice is yours and I would bet most people on this site would agree with me since you use PTU everyday.
