Default Upgrading to Ultimate, cuts annual plan duration to half!

Yesterday on March 10th 2020, we upgraded a perpetual Pro Tools license (2019.6) that had expired plan on September 5th 2019, to a Pro Tools Ultimate perpetual.

After activating the licenses on iLok, i noticed that the Ultimate Annual plan expiration date is set on September 5th 2020....

I expected that to be March 10th 2021, since that is a year after the upgrade occured, right? For example, if we make an upgrade to Ultimate on August 2020 that means that a month later the plan will be expired??

Just wanted a second opinion from the community here, if that stands correct, because to me, this is some kind of glitch of the system...
Any input is welcomed, thanks in advance!

Cheers!

p.s.I already opened a support case (#03900638) and waiting for a reply about the issue.

It doesn’t surprise me and it’s yet one more reason why I can’t wait for Luna to show up on the scene so I can ditch ProTools for most things unless absolutely necessary. My plan expires in July and I’ve notified them that they’re done getting money from me since they doubled the cost of my support plan.

It makes sense to me that when you buy one more year it starts from the date it expired

How does it makes sense?

It was an upgrade, from Standard version with an expired plan to the Ultimate version. Not a renewal.

If someone upgrades Pro Tools 11/12 or 2018 (with an expired plan), for example, to Pro Tools 2019.12 Ultimate (the current version) , will he gets 1 year of updates and support or not?

If so, then why our upgrade didn't, there is no difference if it was PT 2019.6 or PT 12....

Anyway, that was the product we bought.

Your license tier is one thing and your support plan date is another thing

What does that mean? If you care to elaborate i'm all ears, otherwise you don't help with statements that have hidden meaning or only you understand. Posting from a mobile device is not the best thing though, i get it. Maybe someone else who knows better could chime in and shed some light on this.

Does the underlined in red stands true or not? Is this false advertisement?
It's simple as that. We got a product that does not fulfill its description.
It says 1 year of updates and support....we got 6 months.

Cheers!

Maybe it's because you've activated a renewal plan instead of a reinstatement plan?

You can check in your Avid account...go to this particular product in your account on the website, it should say there when your support plan expires. If it is a date other than September 20th, the iLok license would expire on September 20th and then automatically be reinstated with a new date that expires at the same time as your support plan.

The product we have bought was this:
https://www.sweetwater.com/store/det...s-11-or-higher

It is an upgrade from Pro Tools Standard to Pro Tools Ultimate, not a reisteinment, neither a renewal product.

It is very clearly stated in the title.

We upgraded from Pro Tools 2019.6 to Pro Tools Ultimate.

Cheers!

Thanks for your help!
I have checked all that and here are some screenshots of our account.

This is the lapsed Pro Tools Standard tab:

This is the upgraded Pro Tools Ultimate tab:

....and from the iLok:

As you can see, the deposit date is 10/03/2020 and the expiration date 06/09/2020.
This is not a year of upgrades and support, it is half of it.

The expiring date should be on 10/03/2021...one year after the activation, as it says in the tin!
Why is that happened? Does it makes sense?

Cheers!
