Default Digital pops in consolidated regions

I have recently notices digital pops appearing in regions once I consolidate them. I am not referring to areas with abd edits or auto-fades, but rather in areas that have no edits whatsoever. And pops that are easily visible in the waveforms.

The editing system I started to notice them on is running 6.9.3cs1 on OSX 10.4.2 with a G4 dual 1.25 and 2 gigs of RAM. There is no external clock or any digital connections, just a single 192 interface. I aven't experienced it on other machines, but it is somewhat random and I haven't been doing much consolidating on the other systems.

Has anyone else had this problem? I have never experienced it before yesterday.

Have you tried using a different hard drive?

Not yet, Do you think its a big factor? I have used the specific drive (it's purpose is a prep stage for my sessions, hence the consolidation, where sessions don't really live on there for long) quite a bit in this way. Perhaps a sign that it is dying?

Using another drive would help in trying to narrow down the cause, as there is nothing conclusive at the moment. When trying to fix something like this, we'll usually have you try a number of different things and, by process of elimination, we can determine the ultimate cause.

So - just try using a different drive and see if that changes anything.

Also, you should really try trashing preferences and databases, as that very well may clear up the issue for you.
