Default Bug - Aux Page buttons often don't work

Hey Avid/Eddie,

I've been frequently encountering an error - I can't seem to scroll up/down through Aux layers on the bottom row of encoders with the 'Page' controls on the left hand side of the S3. Often affects the 'Dyn' layer too (which I sometimes use to flip plugin parameters onto the fader layer).

S3 firmware - 1.2.0.131
EuControl - 2011.11.10
ProTools - 2021.3.1.176
2013 Dustbin running 10.14.6
S3 is connected directly to the Ethernet port on the Thunderbolt Display.

Any tips? I'm aware it might just be a bug!

Funny you should post this; happened three times to me yesterday: Everything works, Eucon surfaces are all controlling everything properly, but page buttons refuse to page through the auxes. Only reliable solution I've found is to disable Eucon in Pro Tools and re-enable. I did also switch layouts (move to another layout and back to the one I was on) once and paging through auxes came back. Most frustrating though!

I think we already have a bug logged for this. It happens if you close a PT session and then open another. The workaround it to restart PT before opening a new session. Can you try and report back if that works so we have more data on how to fix it. Thanks Eddie

I've been told of another workaround to try: Instantiating a send (or multiple sends) - Artist Mix/S1 will update its OLEDs with send data. From this point on it will be possible to page through Aux-s “a”-”j”.

In my case, this has happened during a mix while a session was already open, though it hasn't happened often enough for me to figure out the exact conditions; it seems like it's occasionally after adding or deleting a track, but not sure.

For me, a reliable fix is to disable Eucon in Pro Tools and re-enable (don't need to close and open session). If it happens again I'll try and add an aux and see if that works.

best,
rich

I'll give this a try next time it happens and report back here (if that suits you?)

Now on 5 years of love with my S3 otherwise!

Just confirming that this works a treat. Thanks!

This is now fixed in the upcoming release 21.6 (hopefully 29th June)
