Put a midi track into loop record with "Automatically create playlist when loop recording" and tell me what happens.

While we do indeed HAVE playlists, they still need some work as they are not able to be auditioned the way audio playlists can. But yes, you can track as many playlists as you like. You just have to promote or select a playlist to the top to hear it

I suspect that the OP means MIDI playlists that can be managed visually in lanes and that, to the extent permissible, have the same functionality as audio playlists.

ok, well, you did not say that in your original post .. and it does not say anything regarding Loop Record on the Logic Link you provided .. so we all mistakenly replied without all the facts ...

and yes, i just tested and you are correct .. loop record does not make a new playlist - even after checking that in PT Pref's / Operation Tab ..

so we are wrong but next time please give us all the facts so we do not look so silly .. haha .. just kidding, we always look silly !! ..

has this been Logged as Suggestion ?? i assume it has been but if not i am happy to pass this up the food chain

cheers john

its been a pet peeve of mine for a long time...

i do a lot of midi tracking, where we treat the performances as live instruments.. multiple takes etc. rather then scientifically creating the
perfect take.

so we end up doing those in ableton right now.. but now we will do them in logic, as thats even faster..

my solution to that, is to create Groups so that i can make all the New Playlists in one shot .. but i do not use loop recording as it is missing a feature i would like to have .. Pre/Post Roll - been asking for this for years Too .. this is my Pet Peeve ..

So I know this is an old thread, but as far as I can tell we cannot view Midi Playlists the same as audio playlists.

I as well tried the above mentioned method and the playlist is empty.
However if I right click on the mid clip and select... "Matching Alternates" I can then see the takes there. This is one way but am I missing something to view them as a playlist?

Thank you
