Default Import Audio CD Automatically renaming my files DO NOT WANT THIS

my files which are recorded live of a church service are automatically named just 1,2,3,4,5,6, etc... when i import audio and click convert to import them it renames them rediculous names it finds online like "Asses of fire" and other stupid random names which then imports them alphabetically and doing so screws up the order they should be in 1,2,3,4 and instead i end up having 1,5,2,6, etc....

HOW do i get it to stop automatically naming my files?!?! SOOO annoying

thanks!

also, is there a way to get it to put them on a new track but all files on that same track instead of making 12 different tracks? i know you can drag them in all at same time from bin window if you option left to right but can you make them drop in new track all on same track?

all of this is happening in pro tools, im importing from pro tools, no outside program is used to convert my files,

This problem is not the fault of Pro Tools. Its the fault of whatever program you are using for importing(iTunes?). Check the preferences for that program, or upload the info. Check out www.usisrc.org, gracenote.com or freedb.org for ways to upload the info(yes, I agree that its annoying as *&%$*^%$)

BTW, you make a mean beer

. So all this happens in PT?! Okay, check under preferences for anything to do with renaming audio on import. PT never renames my audio on import(but I have seen this happen with iTunes, which is why I thought that was at play)

I've never heard of this before. Can you do a screen capture of the process so we can see exactly what's going on? You can use the free Jing service to do the capture and upload the file, then post a link to it here so we an view it.

Or use whatever screen capture software you prefer, upload it using any file hosting service you like and post a link to download it in this thread.
